By

An industry debrief session about the recently completed Canadian New Crop Seminars was held at Cigi on December 19.  Grain company representatives, farmers who had participated on the seminars, as well as staff from Cigi and the Canadian Grain Commission attended the debrief session in person and via web conference.

Earl Geddes, Cigi CEO presented observations from the regional new crop seminars held in Southeast Asia, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa during November and December.  One of the observations shared was the greatly increased attendance at the seminars in most regions, underscoring customer interest in Canadian wheat. During the debrief session Canadian Grain Commission representatives also presented on new crop visits made to South Korea, Japan and China by the CGC.
