Open house, dinner celebrations mark Cigi’s 40 years

By

Cigi’s 40th anniversary open house and dinner celebrations proved successful on May 17. The open house during the day showcased Cigi’s facilities for about 130 visitors. Later on, more than 100 people attended the reception and dinner at the Fairmont Hotel, including representatives from the Canadian grain industry and a number of former Cigi board members, executive directors and other retired staff.  The evening included a speech from keynote speaker Kim McConnell, founder of AdFarm, and a tribute to retiring Head of Baking Technology Tony Tweed who started up Cigi’s baking area 40 years ago.

Thank you to everyone who attended and celebrated this milestone with Cigi.  We also extend our appreciation to the Fairmont Winnipeg and Buhler Inc. for their sponsorship of the 40th anniversary dinner and to the companies who donated door prizes for our open house.

In June Cigi will also be celebrating  its anniversary with farmers in Regina at a barbecue to be held in conjunction with the Farm Progress Show.
