His Excellency Dr. Tuncay Babali, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Canada, and Mr. Ali Riza Güney, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey to Canada, were accompanied by an official from Manitoba Entrepreneurship, Training and Trade (Government of Manitoba) on a tour of Cigi on April 12. The delegates had an opportunity to see Cigi’s technology areas of milling, baking, Asian products, extrusion and pasta processing, in addition to the pulse milling facility.

Turkey is one of the top markets for Canadian pulses. Last year 16% of Canada’s exports of chickpeas and 24% of lentils went to Turkey, according to Pulse Canada.
